Blackmagic RAW version 2.1 brings native Apple M1 support, improved Premiere Pro plugin

Blackmagic Design has released version 2.1 of Blackmagic RAW, bringing with it native support for use on Apple’s M1 computers as well as expanded compatibility and improved performance.

While BlackMagic Design updated DaVinci Resolve with native support for Apple’s M1 computers back in March, not all codecs were updated alongside the non-linear video editing (NLE) app to make the most of Apple’s custom silicon—including Blackmagic RAW. This version 2.1 update fixes that, adding native support for Apple silicon on macOS.

In addition to Apple silicon support, Blackmagic RAW version 2.1 improves CPU decoding for URSA Mini Pro 12K footage, adds support for footage captured with Nikon (Z6 II and Z7 II) and Panasonic (Lumix S1H, S1 and S5) cameras via the Blackmagic Video Assist, and improves both performance and reliability of the Blackmagic RAW Adobe Premiere Pro plugin.

Upon visiting the Blackmagic Design support page, linked below, the highlighted area of the above screenshot is where you will find the Blackmagic RAW 2.1 download for Linux, macOS and Windows computers. Click to enlarge.

Blackmagic Raw version 2.1 is available to download, for free, for Linux, macOS and Windows computer systems on Blackmagic Design’s support page.
