Qualcomm enters multi-year partnership with Nikon to bring its ISP technology to Snapdragon chipsets

Qualcomm has announced it's entered a multi-year agreement with Nikon to use its image processing pipeline in its Snapdragon chipsets starting in 2023.

We spoke with Qualcomm Vice President of Product Management, Judd Heape, who says the agreement will allow the company to use Nikon's image signal processing software technology – the very same used in its Z Series mirrorless cameras – in its mobile platforms. Heape says as time goes on, the two companies will work together to more tightly integrate it directly into the Spectra ISP found inside its Snapdragon chipsets.

Additional details weren't provided at the time, but Qualcomm will be sharing examples alongside Nikon during its announcement. We will update this article with additional details and examples as they become available.
