The Sony a7C II has some significant upgrades compared to its predecessor, including updated processors, more sophisticated autofocus and improved controls. That's all great, but the camera still needs to deliver the goods where it counts: image quality.
At the heart of the a7C II is the same 33MP BSI CMOS sensor and Bionz XR processor found in Sony's a7 IV. Although it's a modest bump in resolution compared to the original a7C, we found the image quality from this sensor in the a7 IV to be extremely good, with excellent levels of detail and good dynamic range.
